NYC Men Teach and The New York City Department of Education is pleased to announce that we are offering an eight week paid Summer Fellowship for college freshmen, sophomores and juniors interested in seeking valuable work experience within a NYC Department of Education classroom.

Why Apply for the NYC Department of Education Summer Fellowship?

Participants will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the program’s mission to promote student achievement and learn what it is like to be a full-time teacher within one of 1800 schools.

The priority deadline is April 28th, 2017

• All interested students will be expected to participate in a 10 minute Virtual Interview

In addition to general information, it will also ask for:

• Essay question: 500 words - Keep the following questions in mind as you write your statement: What do you hope to gain from this experience? What talents or skills do you posses that would be an asset to the Fellowship program?
