    Job Description

    Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the Vice President Training and Development the Continuing Education Manager plans, develops, schedules and implements continuing education programs.  The Continuing Education Manager works collaboratively with faculty, WES leadership, and industry partners to drive the planning, implementation, and evaluation of, continuing education programs. The continuing education manager collects outcome data and analyzes to review program effectiveness and ensures that all continuing education programs meet accreditation and industry needs.  The Vice President, Workforce Education Solutions Training and Development provides general oversight concerning objectives and projects for this position and completes an annual evaluation of position.

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Initiates new programs to meet the changing needs and interests of the workforce and industries served by National University System.
    • Monitors and conducts analysis/review of all existing programs to insure they are financially sound and continue to meet the needs/interests of workforce, organizations, and industry. 
    • Conducts market research and identifies educational needs of the workforce through labor market analysis, community resources and planning/advisory committees. 
    • Prepares contract proposals and contracts in partnership with other organizations or businesses. 
    • Negotiates contracts with 3rd party vendors to bring new programs to National University System’s catalog of programs. 
    • Coordinates special events and promotional opportunities to market CE programs. 
    • Designs and implements curriculum in partnership with faculty, partner organizations and varying industries. 
    • Develops brochure/literature design concepts and other marketing content for CE programs in collaboration with Marketing Agency. 
    • Develops pricing strategies for CE program offerings and coordinates price points and implementation with other departments as needed.

    Requirements:

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business, education, or related discipline.

    • Five (5) years of experience in Continuing Education accreditation.

    • 1 to 2 years project management experience preferred

    • One to three (1-3) years of professional experience in higher education preferred.

    • Experience with web-based activities and/or exemplary experience with using various technology platforms preferred.

    • Technical / Functional Skills

    • Demonstrated experience managing accreditation for continuing education programs.

    • Experience working with continuing education regulatory standards and criteria.

    • Competencies

    • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills as well as effective written and verbal communications.

    • Requires the ability to plan, prioritize, and assign work in order to meet yearly plans, academic calendars, schedules, and timelines.

    • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in order to plan, develop and implement projects.

    • Experience managing complex projects to completion on time and within budgetary constraints.

    • Ability to identify client/stakeholder requirements and develop proposals/projects to meet requirements.
