POSITION OVERVIEW:
Tower Bridge International Group is seeking Online English Language Learning (ELL) instructors to teach our online English curriculum to Chinese secondary school students in a group class setting. This instructor will work closely with a classroom teacher in China. The U.S. instructor will be driving the content delivery, while the counterpart in China will be responsible for classroom management and administration.
The course will be offered two to three times per week in U.S. evening times. Candidates may be remote from HQ, which is located in Herndon, VA. This is primarily a virtual teaching position that is a renewable contract role.
WHO MAKES A GOOD ELL INSTRUCTOR?
Someone who is:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend trainings to be familiar with the virtual teaching environment and tools
Participate in a variety of meetings with operation staff and the teacher counterparts in China to optimize student learning and improve current curriculum
Deliver existing lesson plans utilizing a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies
Develop supplemental course materials, class activities as needed
Employ a variety of methods to meet different aptitudes and interests of students
Maintain an engaging and supportive learning environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (Required) or Master's Degree (Preferred) in secondary education, curriculum and instruction, TESOL, or closely related field
Ability to deliver interdisciplinary ELL classes by using a provided curriculum as guidance
Ability to deliver subject area classes with adaptation to ELL students
Ability to develop supplemental course materials, class activities and assessment tools as needed
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with students, staff, and administration in a multicultural environment
Experience working with Chinese international students is preferred
TESOL Certificate or State Licensure in ELL is preferred
A specialty area in subject area is preferred
