    JOB OVERVIEW:

    The Academic Counselor is responsible for developing high-quality programs and service products to prepare international students for their success in school, life and career. Under the supervision of Academic Manager, the person will be involved in service program development, base service delivery quality assurance, training, webinars, academic newsletter, curriculum development and other academic program related projects.  

    The position will have direct interaction with our students and their families, and also act as a liaison between the HQ team in the U.S., local base teams in the local region and our team in China. The Academic Counselor will need to capture clients' needs into program design and development, test concepts with clients and our base teams, develop instructional resources, support launch and facilitate the ongoing enhancement of winning solutions through evaluation metrics.

    This position requires fluency in Mandarin and English.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Develop operation process, training and evaluation tools to support the implementation of programs; provide curriculum and instructional support; improve existing curricula based on student outcomes and implementations feedback;

    Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders within the company and our partner schools to track and analyze program service delivery status, student achievement data and client's feedback for the continual improvement of program;

    Support launch, marketing, and program promotion by creating and maintain marketing materials, success stories and staff training;

    Conduct needs assessment, research market opportunities and analyze competitor landscape;

    Assist program service delivery quality by defining desired outcomes, monitoring objectives, and communicating goals;

    Provide student academic advising support in various academic areas such as subject study, standardized testing and extracurricular activities. Help student develop and follow a meaningful educational action plan. Assess and evaluate student progress and produce academic reports accordingly

    Support and increase student awareness of resources offered by the company, partner high school, and other educational resources.

    Maintain and be familiar with up-to-date policies of our company and partner high schools.

    Design and provide academic webinars, workshops, and monthly academic newsletter.

    Assist with new student orientations.

    Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    A Bachelor's (required) or Master's degree (preferred) in education, counseling, psychology, social work or closely related field.

    Preferred 2-4 years' experience in education program development, curriculum development, higher education, high school guidance, college admissions consulting, counseling, teaching, advising or closely related field. Previous high school or college student advising experience preferred. Education may be substituted for working experience for the right candidate.

    Working knowledge of student services, student development, student learning or college planning

    Preferred work experience with Chinese international students.

    Must demonstrate excellent organization and project management skills. Ability to coordinate multiple project simultaneously.

    Must communicate effectively orally and in writing; one-on-one and group communication; via remote web-based tools and in person.

    Must demonstrate professionalism working with multiple stakeholders.

    Must demonstrate strong research and content development skills.

    Must be highly organized, entrepreneurial in spirit and able to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities.

    Flexibility required. Student advising and meetings with China team can occur in the evenings and on weekends as needed.
