    Position Summary:

    The Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching and evaluating learners in the Nursing Programs. The Assistant Professor develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing program on an ongoing basis. This position participates in advising learners, curriculum development, program evaluations, facilitates learning in the various settings to include didactic, clinical, simulation, or skills lab, evaluation of learner achievement, and other matters as assigned in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the Program. The Assistant Professor functions as a team member within the nursing faculty.

    Essential Function and Responsibilities:

    • Completes faculty orientation, including the online and distance modules
    • Monitors student performance in accordance with course outcomes
    • Engages with learners' in problem solving, information delivery, patient care, and aspects of the nursing education process
    • Assists with resolution specific to study problems
    • Evaluates learners' potential for successful achievement in their course
    • Facilitates experiential learning
    • Completes clinical, lab, or didactic assignment rubrics and evaluations, and does so within the required timeframe from the actual activity
    • Engages in shared decision making when in College, faculty or nursing committee meetings
    • Maintains current knowledge in multiple areas of nursing practice
    • Maintains accurate attendance and performance records of learners, and submits required reports according to published deadlines
    • Maintains proficiency in online delivery of nursing education
    • Maintains open communication with learners
    • Attends nursing faculty meetings and other faculty activities as required
    • Serves on at least one nursing committee and may serve on College committees as needed
    • May be assigned to various modalities including experiential, didactic, and NCLEX coaching-as the needs of the College change

    Minimum Required Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited University within the United States.

    • Two (2) years Teaching Experience.

    • Active, unencumbered RN license from state of residence.

    • Ability to obtain RN licensure in any jurisdiction required by the College, to include a valid multistate license with the ability to practice in your home state and other compact states.

    • Earned Graduate degree with a major in nursing.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in teaching in a concept-based nursing program and experience in curriculum development are preferred.
    • Proficiency in at least one learning management systems (LMS), plus Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), and other technology platforms related to the delivery of online nursing education

    ****************This position is on the ground teaching students at the experiential learning site in Reno, NV and is NOT a remote teaching role.

    All of our newly hired collaborators are required to attend new employee orientation in person in Salt Lake City, Utah for one week. All travel and lodging accommodations will be paid for by the organization.
