  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary

    The Associate Bursar will work directly with the learners to ensure the accuracy of all learner accounts. The incumbent will coordinate payments with learners, maintain all payment and fee information for the learner to help support their completion of the program.

    Essential Function and Responsibilities:

    • Ensure payments and billing transactions are entered into the college's Student Information System.
    • Monitor student accounts for accuracy of coding and charges.
    • Manage and process learner ledger credits through stipend payments.
    • Verifies charges, payments and adjustments made to ledgers are accurate and posted in timely manner.
    • Reconcile daily banking reports and work closely with the finance function.
    • Work with Registrar, Financial Aid, and Academic Departments to resolve grade disputes, withdrawals, date errors and other matters that may affect the students' outstanding balances.
    • Track all changes and withdrawals, make sure learner ledgers are updated in the Student Information System
    • Run monthly/annually ledger accounts analysis and ensure all ledgers accounts are accurate and proper documentation.

    Minimum Required Qualifications:

    • Experience in a higher institution of learning preferred.
    • 1-3 years of experience with entry level accounts receivable and/or collections experience.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Applications is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
    • Demonstrated one year of experience in customer service field is strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, graphs is preferred.
    • Some experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable preferred.

    ****This position is required to attend new employee orientation in person in Salt Lake City, Utah. All travel and lodging accommodations will be paid for by the organization.**
