    Position Summary

    The Academic Analyst provides operational support for the analysis, evaluation, and quality assurance of all Nightingale College offerings. The position will perform academic data analysis and recommend improvements to foster an environment of using data to improve the curriculum, college processes, and institutional effectiveness.

    The Academic Analyst will be responsible for developing infrastructure and standardized operating procedures for internal functions. The Academic Analyst provides data analysis and guidance to Nightingale College at the faculty, director, and executive levels. The position requires a highly motivated, self-driven, and creative individual, able to multi-task independently.

    Essential Function and Responsibilities:

    • Works within the Institutional Analytics and Effectiveness team to provide data support and guidance to Nightingale College.
    • Collaborates with Nightingale College functions to measure learning outcomes and other quality measures.
    • Collaborates with Nightingale Innovations functions to develop assessment plans, blueprints, test items, and other ancillary documents.
    • Develop and review content-specific test items and stimuli, including multiple choice, technology enhanced, extended response, cluster sets, performance-based tasks, and simulations across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessment.
    • Develop items and assessments based on accessibility considerations.
    • Ensures quality control of data and analysis, results interpretation, and reporting.
    • Conducts all aspects of operational work related to testing and assessment including data cleaning, calibration, scoring, quality control, and reporting.
    • Develops programming to automate evaluation and assessment of data analysis procedures.
    • Performs tasks involving item and test analyses, differential item functioning, equating, scaling, norming, standard setting, validity, and efficacy studies.
    • Prepares technical reports and related documents.
    • Presents research and analysis results to internal and external teams and affiliates.
    • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    • Master's degree in statistics, psychometrics, educational measurement, quantitative psychology, educational technology, data analytics, data science, or related.
    • 2 years' experience working in an academic and/or non-academic organization in educational assessment field.
    • Preferred: working knowledge of classical and modern test theory and advanced psychometric models (e.g. item response theory, latent variable models, cognitive diagnostic models, latent knowledge tracing).
    • Knowledge and experience in applied statistics including multiple regression, predictive modeling, Bayesian methods, educational data mining, and machine learning.
    • Knowledge of instructional design and nursing curriculum delivery systems.
    • Knowledge of learning management systems—experience with Instructure/Canvas in preferred.
    • Knowledge and experience working with analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Sigma, Domo, etc.
