    TO APPLY: In order to be considered for employment by Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), you must apply at this site: - US/NEIU/job/Chicago - Illinois/Application -Programmer-III-1_JR100109 DEPARTMENT: UTS- Enterprise Applications IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: This position is responsible for a range of functional and technical activities to improve the overall operational effectiveness of 3rd party applications and interfaces between Ellucian Banner ERP and Workday. Provide production support for Workday. The Applications Programmer Ill is responsible for identifying and documenting business/system the lifecycle of projects that span multiple functions. The incumbent must be able to analyze and debug issues related to code, infrastructure, and testing configurations as well as define and create software products, frameworks, reference architectures, and patterns and practices for implementation. The incumbent must also have familiarity with Workday delivered integration with demonstrated experience using EIB (Enterprise interface Builder) and Workday Studio Integration. The work is performed under general supervision. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL HAVE: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AS OUTLINED IN THE CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION; CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER * High school graduation or equivalent * Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, information systems, or data processing or a major in a closely related field that included 30 semester hours of credit in computer-related courses OR * Four years of experience in computer programming, analysis, or applications software systems development/design that included one year of applications software systems development/design OR * Any combination of education and experience that totals four years and included one year of experience and/or training in applications software systems development/design. NOTE: Credit for course work in applications software systems development/design or closely related subjects shall be evaluated on the basis of one semester hour of credit being equal to one month of experience. DEPARTMENTAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. * Good understanding with three to four years of hands-on experience in development and/or integration for ERP Application system. * Three to four years of hands-on experience implementing and managing Workday system in integration, report generation and security management. * Workday Pro certification preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Serve as a Workday Integrations product specialist. * Coordinate with suppliers to map new and existing integration systems, mapping, delivery, troubleshooting, etc. * Provide production support for Workday including, but not limited to researching and resolving problems, unexpected results and/or process flaws, perform scheduled activities, recommended solutions, or alternate methods to meet requirements. * Drive the design, development, testing and deployment of new integrations and maintain existing integrations using workday integration tools: Studio, Core Connectors, Document transformation, etc. * Participate in Workday major releases, identifying impact/enhancement opportunities associated with a new release features/functionality * Automating integrations using XSLT, XML, Python, Java Script, EIB, Connector, Data Transformation, Workday Studio and PL/SQL * Write effective unit tests that ensure the quality and reliability of products. * Design and implement integrations between software platforms, programs, and applications. * Work closely with business partners to understand business requirements. * Collaborate with IT peers and business partners to ensure a consistent focus on production support, service requests, and roadmap initiatives to ensure a balanced delivery of service and solutions aligned with business objectives. * Provide support to end-users of the workday platform, answering questions, resolving issues, and following through on any reported or unresolved issues. * Participate with direct team in conducting code and peer reviews and suggesting improvements in overall process that drive quality and efficiency. * Produce high quality technical documentation detailing technical design specifications and respective technical diagrams. * Effectively communicate project status and key issues to Team Leads and/or NEIU Leadership. * Actively participate in Workday Community and Regional User Groups (RUG) * Leverage business knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities for process improvements. * Performs other related duties as assigned (This position requires a background check.)
