Position Information Working Title Communications Intern Department Kentucky Campus Compact Type of Work Study Building/Office Location CA - Campbell Hall Work Schedule 20 hours per week, flexible depending upon students schedule. Job Description The Communications Intern will help the Kentucky Campus Compact in telling its story. The intern will work with KyCC staff to communicate about and market/promote the Kentucky Campus Compact and its member institutions. Primary Responsibilities 1. Create Monthly eNewsletter: Compile, report on, and write articles about service-learning and civic engagement occurring in colleges and universities across the state of Kentucky. Send out monthly newsletter to constituents. 2. Keep the Website Current: Work with KyCC staff to get current information about KyCC and update the website daily or as needed. 3. Develop Website Content: Create, compile, research, and add service-learning and civic engagement content to the KyCC website. 4. Promote KyCC Initiatives: Write press releases, help create press packets, assist with the annual report. 5. Support Social Media Presence: Work with KyCC staff can social media committee to support a strong KyCC social media presence. Qualifications Creativity and initiative, the ability work independently, and the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines. Strong writing skills and good oral communication skills. Ability to form strong working relationships with constituents. Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or Public Relations majors preferred or equivalent marketing or communications experience. Project management and leadership skills. Basic computer skills and website content management skills in WordPress.
