Instructional Technology Specialist I Nova Southeastern University 319 reviews - Fort Lauderdale, FL 33314 Responsible for the instructional technology user support of academic course, specialized learning management applications and training delivered through both classroom and online education to COM's learning community, and any other emerging and integrated technology needed for clinical competencies training and interdisciplinary education. Essential Job Functions: 1. Global maintenance and planning related to the LMS functions and associated databases within the COM, including resolving problems and issues as needed. 2. Provide technical support to the COM community on a daily basis. 3. Oversee Blackboard course creation and content management and assisting COM faculty and students. 4. Modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. 5. Prepare and maintain technical documentation to ensure timely resolution. 6. Work with minimal supervision and provide advanced support for the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of software application for faculty and staff to ensure technology resources are functioning properly. 7. Monitor necessary systems application and make arrangements for maintenance, updates, patches, upgrades and repairs as needed. 8. Train and assist students, staff and faculty in the effective use of technology applications as needed to enhance medical education and practice. 9. Prepare operating instructions and compile documentation of program development. 10. Implement preventative maintenance procedures for COM technologies. 11. Function as liaison between NSU OIT and COM faculty and staff with regard to technology functions, maintenance and repair. 12. Coordinate and facilitate appropriate support from Software vendors and NSU OIT. 13. Perform other duties as assigned. Marginal Job Functions: 1.
