  • Responsibilities

    The Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR) at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager with a solid background in psychology, public health or a closely related field. The candidate should also possess 3-5 years of demonstrated ability managing clinical trials with human subjects. The project manager will work on a grant funded by the American Heart Association focusing on utilizing digital health technologies to motivate cessation of vaping among adolescents.

     

    Responsibilities Include:

     

    • Day-to-day management of the trial, study protocol development, IRB submission, hiring, training and supervision of staff
    • Oversee achievement of participant recruitment and retention goals
    • Assist with qualitative data collection, coordinate data management
    • Liaison with technology partners, clinic partners and others investigators participating in the consortium of funded grants
    •  Monitor expenditures

     

    The candidate will join a growing dynamic group of health psychologists and behavioral medicine experts, research staff and postdoctoral associates working on several ongoing projects, and will be afforded the opportunity for professional development. The Boston University Medical Campus is comprised of the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, the School of Medicine, and the School of Public Health, providing a strong collaborative interdisciplinary environment with a wealth of resources, including the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), which provides an array of services, collaborative opportunities, pilot funding, and training.

    Required Skills

    Applicants should possess at least a BA or BS degree in psychology or related social science field plus three to five years of research experience as a project manager with supervisory responsibilities. The candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and a strong interest in the application of mobile technology to improve population health. Previous experience using mobile or electronic health for behavior change is preferred.

     

    Strong analytical, management, interpersonal and communication skills are required. In addition, experience with basic budgeting is preferred. The incumbent must have demonstrated skill in facilitating development of positive culture, including partnership and communication.
