This position will interact with recruits-parents-Head and Assistant Coachesother universities FAR Registrars Office-Advancement Office. Duties and Responsibilities: (Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification.) HEAD CHEER COACH The Head Cheer Coach will report to the Athletic Director and will oversee all aspects of operating a successful intercollegiate Cheer program. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Recruiting of Prospective Student-Athletes: *Identify prospective student-athletes capable of succeeding academically, spiritually, and athletically, as well as successful retention at Ohio Christian University. *Update the OCU Athletics Recruiting Report on a bi-weekly basis. *Maintain a database of prospects including updated records of contacts. *Successfully recruit those identified student-athletes. Student-Athlete Skill Instruction; Team and Competition Preparation: *Teach all basic and advanced skills required in the sport of Cheer during individual skill sessions, team practices, as well as strength and conditioning sessions. *Develop and implement of sound and safe practice plans that successfully prepare the student-athletes with the fundamentals of the sport of Cheer. *Develop a comprehensive and strategic plan for each scheduled competition throughout the season. Administrative Responsibilities: Organize and coordinate of a wide variety of administrative tasks which include, but not limited to, team travel, contest scheduling, budget preparation, office administration, academics (retention, graduation, GPAs, academic coaching, study tables), compliance, facility usage, public relations, marketing, style guide, fundraising, community engagement, fall-winter-spring-summer camps and other daily operations for operating a successful intercollegiate Cheer program. NAIA Rules Compliance: Be responsible for knowledge of, and adherence to all NAIA rules and regulations pertaining to but not limited to recruiting, eligibility, and general operation of the Cheer program. Position Requirements: *A solid working knowledge of Cheer. *Two to four years of Cheer and/or coaching experience at the high school/college level. *The selected candidate must successfully pass all University requirements for employment. Required Qualifications Required Minimum Qualifications: According to Ohio Christian University employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle Statement. Excellent computer proficiency is required particularly with word processing. Web site experience is preferred.
