    Outreach Coordinator - Basic Studies Salary $15.75 Hourly Location Bremerton, WA Job Type Part-time Hourly Department Workforce Development Job Number 17-18.P67 Closing Continuous * Description * Benefits * Questions Description Responsible to conduct community outreach, recruitment and retention activities for the Basic Studies department including planning, organizing, and implementing recruitment activities and marketing strategies to increase student enrollment and retention, while building and maintaining a positive image and relationship with prospective and new applicants. Essential Functions * Plan and conduct regular outreach and retention activities for Kitsap and Mason counties* Carry out all forms of communications in person; telephone; emails, as well as contributing to wider forms of communication such as web-based communication or announcements* Participate in and setup for community events as needed* Prepares and distributes materials such as brochures, fact sheets, pamphlets, displays and other outreach materials* Conduct presentations for prospective students* Assist with the development, expansion and enhancement of district-wide outreach and retention efforts to include community partners and agencies, local school districts, and businesses* Conduct outreach activities in a systematic and documented manner, using outreach databases and status reporting tools; share status reports on a regular basis (e.g. record all outreach contacts on a daily outreach log)* Participate in district wide outreach efforts including Workforce Development, Student Services, etc.* Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * High School graduate or equivalent* Two (2) years full-time equivalent (FTE) experience providing outreach, community relations or related* Bilingual, Spanish preferred Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in education, business, marketing or related field from an accredited college or university* Experience in outreach, marketing, and relationships management* Knowledge of higher education, in particular community college programs* Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Successful candidate will be able to * Work successfully with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds* Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the community college mission, diversity, and a learning-centered climate* Provide strong customer focus and commitment to meeting the unique needs of students, employers, colleagues, and other stakeholders* Demonstrate excellent oral, written, listening, and technological communication skills* Understand complex oral and written instructions* Provide excellent internal and external customer service* Collaborate successfully with colleagues, staff and students as part of an educational team* Display strong organizational and analytical skills* Exhibit reliability and integrity in maintaining assigned work schedules and completing assigned tasks using sound judgment* Uphold Olympic College's values and ethics necessary to maintain a positive climate* Follow campus regulations, local, state and federal laws, regulations and ordinances Additional Information Conditions of Employment: * Successful completion of a criminal history background check Application process: To be considered for this position a candidate must apply online through the Olympic College website and submit the following required materials: * Olympic College Online Application* Resume* Cover Letter - In your cover letter please describe how your background and experience would allow you to succeed in this position For technical support, contact NEOGOV at 877-204-4442 between 6am and 6pm Pacific Time, Monday-Friday.
