Additionally, this position will advance Olympic College's commitment to accessible course materials and accessible instructional technologies. Essential Functions * Apply student-centered, evidence-based learning theory and best practices to course design* Collaborate with faculty on course design, especially for web-enhanced, hybrid, and online courses* Support faculty assessment of student learning outcomes, especially in writing measurable outcomes and mapping and reporting outcomes in Canvas* Assess organizational and faculty needs and coach faculty on developing materials, resources, and learning activities to meet those needs* Design, develop, and deliver courses, workshops, learning communities, etc., in a range of modalities for staff and faculty professional development* Develop and provide professional development and training around accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning* Evaluate existing and proposed instructional technologies for compliance with accessibility standards* Integrate a wide range of instructional technologies, as appropriate, into course design and delivery to support student learning* Offer creative and innovative ideas for teaching and learning to support student success* Collaborate with units across the college, including access services, advising, library, and academic departments and divisions* Contribute to CTL and eLearning strategic and operational planning, development of new services, facilitation of training, and program assessment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications * Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.* Two years of teaching experience,* Instructional design expertise in online learning* Intermediate computer competency.* Experience with Canvas or another major learning management system (LMS) Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree from an accredited college or university* Community college teaching experience Conditions of Employment * Successful completion of a criminal history background check. Additional Information The successful candidate will demonstrate: * Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills* Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional manner.* Success working with individuals and groups representing diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds* Knowledge of online course design principles, such as Quality Matters* Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles* Knowledge of accessibility compliance standards and design practices* Knowledge of current with emerging technologies and ability to learn new software applications used for teaching and learning activities.* Knowledge of policies, procedures and services that affect eLearning and college programs. Terms of Employment This is an exempt administrative position contracted on an annual basis. The salary for the position is $ 64,616.00 annually and will be prorated to reflect the remaining contract days in the College's fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
