The University of Notre Dame’s Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to join the leadership team at the Morris Inn , a Four Diamond hotel located at the heart of campus. This position plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional hospitality while supporting the University’s academic, research, and student life missions.
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Morris Inn and McKenna Hall, focusing on guest services, housekeeping operations, team supervision, and operational excellence. This individual ensures smooth, efficient, and high-quality service aligned with the University's standards of excellence.
As a vital part of the University’s hospitality ecosystem, the Morris Inn serves a wide array of distinguished guests, from scholars to families and alumni. Key Responsibilities:
Daily Operations Oversight: Supervise and coordinate all aspects of front office and guest services operations, housekeeping, including arrivals, departures, stayovers, and service requests for both Morris Inn and McKenna Hall.
**Team Leadership & Development: **Lead, mentor, and support front-line staff and Assistant Operations Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Guest Experience Excellence: Ensure delivery of Four Diamond-level service by proactively addressing guest needs, resolving issues promptly, and continuously enhancing the guest journey.
**Operational Standards & Compliance: **Maintain compliance with university policies, departmental procedures, and safety regulations while upholding brand and service standards.
Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with departments such as Housekeeping, Facilities and Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Event Services to ensure seamless guest experiences.
**Performance Monitoring & Reporting: **Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), guest feedback, and team metrics to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
On-the-Ground Presence: Maintain a consistent and visible presence in both guest-facing and back-of-house areas to support staff, monitor service delivery, and respond to evolving operational needs in real-time.
