Job Type: AFSCME union represented Functions/Duties of Position This position exists within the Facilities department of OHSU, and serves to install, maintain and repair mechanical lock and key systems and related door and cabinet hardware pertaining to OHSU operations. Maintenance and Repair / Installs, maintains, repairs and trouble shoots lock hardware, panic hardware, cabinet locks and related hardware. Make keys by impression, code, and duplication. Capital Projects / Collaborates with Project Managers, OHSU?s Architectural Hardware Consultant, and other personnel regarding the proper Hardware Selections for projects based on OHSU?s Door and Hardware Standards. Prepares and installs cylinders, and provides keys for the projects. Rekey campus locks as requested. Master Key Administration / Assist in the maintenance of the campus master key systems. Keeps detailed and up-to-date records on all installed locks, keys and recipients. Ensures that correct authorization is obtained prior to issue of OHSU building door keys. Cuts and distributes keys per OHSU?s Policies. Provides mechanical services to doors and door frames including; hydraulic closer, striker, hinge and shim adjustments Job Requirements Required Qualifications Experience: Two years? experience as journey-level Locksmith, or completion of an approved apprenticeship program, or equivalent combination of experience and training Proficiency with personal computer and current revisions of: Windows Operating Systems, MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer Job Related Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies): * General knowledge and skill in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of lock and key systems & related hardware. Ability to maintain, expand and create multi-level master Key systems & files. Skill in use of tech manuals, key code references/specs. Ability to work from standard architectural drawings and hardware schedules * Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, analyze situations, solve complex problems and initiate actions. * Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. * Knowledge of operations and maintenance means, methods, codes and regulations. Registrations, Certifications, and/or Licenses: State of Oregon driver's license Preferred Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience: Experience as a journey-level Limited Energy Technician (LEA) with a focus on electronic card access control system installation and maintenance. Door and frame repair and preventative maintenance Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses: Electrician, Limited Energy Technician Class A (LEA) licens Maintenance & Repair / Installs, maintains, repairs and trouble shoots lock hardware, panic hardware, cabinet locks and related hardware.
