  • Responsibilities

    Key Job Responsibilities

    Manage all Trips, including the following assignments and tasks:

    • Prepare and execute effective staff training session for Trips
    • Plan and execute all Sequoia day and overnight trips. Confirm outcamp locations and sites.
    • Set Sequoia/Kings Canyon itinerary and submit for approval
    • Complete pre-trip inspections of all Sequoia locations
    • Enhance level of fun and learning on trips, teaching new facts relevant to trip. 
    • Complete and submit all off-camp food orders in a timely manner
    • Double check all food orders for all trips before departure to ensure their completeness
    • Oversee trip departure coordination
    • Maintain and properly store all trip equipment
    • Safety check trip equipment prior to each departure
    • Lead other trips including waterslides, waterski overnights, bowling etc.
    • Select and train Trip Assistants for every Trip
    • While on property check in with "Buddy Bunk" (a bunk assigned to you by management to check in with daily but not directly responsible for their supervision)
    • Submit documentation on trip assistants performance to aid with staff appraisals.
    • Evening Patrol Sub around camp
    • Assist with dismissal from meals/patio control when present
    • Oversee infirmary supplies and medication schedule for all trips.

    Ensure proper documentation of medication given while on outcamp and submit to infirmary immediately upon return.

    • Accountable for the pick-up of meds prior to trip departure and safe return of all medication immediately upon arrival back to camp.
    • Coordinate with manager for any special dietary needs for campers on all off camp activities
    • Responsible for pre and post camp trip equipment and supply inventory.
    • Submit requests of staff names for each trip to Scheduling Dept. 1 week prior
    • Complete end-of-season inventory to camp office and arrange proper storage of all trip equipment
  • Qualifications
    • Must be over the age of 18 to apply
    • Must have basic knowledge on wildlife facts
    • Must be Sports and Wilderness First Aid trained (Camp will pay for this course)
    • Preferred to attend our lifeguard training class or already be certified in Lifeguarding
    • Become a California commercial driver (Camp pays for this process and trains) or be a current California licensed commercial driver to operate a 15 passenger van. (No air brakes necessary)
    • Be able to pass a drug test upon and beyond your hire date
    • Be willing to undergo a background check
    • Have love and experience within National Parks (Great for Parks Management Major)
    • Must have or obtain Food Handlers Certification for basic cooking such as burgers and hotdogs etc. (Camp will pay for this certification)
    • Must enjoy working with children and teaching children about wilderness knowledge.
    • Other duties as assigned
