    FWS - College Work Study Intern - Inukai Family Boys & Girls Club - Job Details Level Undisclosed Job Location Undisclosed Position Type Undisclosed Education Level Undisclosed Salary Range Undisclosed Travel Percentage Undisclosed Job Shift Undisclosed Job Category Undisclosed Description - A College Work Study Intern Youth Development (CWSI) supports Club Leadership in providing an Outcome Driven Club Experience in a variety of programming areas including: Gym, Games Room, Learning Center, Computer Lab, Arts Center, Kitchen, Membership Services, and other targeted programming areas. A CWSI has the opportunity to share their interests (music, art, sports, games, computers, literature & writing, math & science, nutrition & health, etcthe variety is only limited by your imagination) creating innovative program plans which they then lead within their clubs. The majority of responsibilities are engaging the club members by modeling the positive outcomes of pursuing higher education and sharing what a college students experience is while working directly with youth, ensuring their safety, well-being and development through interactive play and other activities as directed. Opportunity for CWSI with experience working with special needs youth to work with small groups. The CWSI is self-motivated, mature, energetic, and able to maintain clear and healthy boundaries with club members, parents and staff; able to communicate and interact with youth in a way that is age appropriate, motivational and positive in nature. The CWSI must be flexible, have the ability to adapt to a work environment which changes often, must remain calm and solve problems in stressful situations. The CWSI must anticipate and implement all elements of activities in an organized fashion. CWSI are positive team players with leadership skills, exhibit high levels of emotional intelligence and are lifelong learners. The CWSI is a non-supervisory position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide engaged presence and personal leadership to ensuring a healthy and safe environment while helping to ensure facilities, equipment & supplies are maintained. Plan, develop, and implement activities that contribute to our 3 priority outcomes, academic success healthy lifestyles and character & citizenship. Collect and track Club member attendance, coursework and behavior data. Model mature work behaviors to ensure a productive work environment. Ensure program areas are set-up and cleaned up on a daily basis. Ensure member confidentiality during and after employment: which includes, but not limited to membership data, and school data and other information obtained. Affirm positive behavior in members, and deliver coaching conversations and redirection when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Current college student within qualified work study program. Preferred knowledge and experience working with a non-profit youth development agency, Boys & Girls Club experience preferred Successful completion of National Criminal History Background check Strong organization skills, attention to detail, professional presence, strong customer relations skills and ability to maintain strict confidentiality Understanding of youth development principles, ability to motivate youth in a positive way Ability and willingness to collaborate with other Clubs, Sites and Community Partners. Ability and willingness to learn and support new ideas for the good of the Club Ability and willingness to model and guide youth in strengths-based problem solving, goal setting and study skills Experience working within diverse cultures preferred.
