Cacique is currently looking for passionate and experienced  Director of Sales-Walmart/Sam’s to lead our Walmart and Sam’s Club business in Bentonville, AR. This role will be responsible to develop the overall Walmart/Sam’s strategy, lead and develop the annual business plans to achieve growth targets. They will own product profitability, trade fund management, expense management and growth of the Walmart/Sam’s business to include core items, development of pricing and sizing strategies and new growth opportunities. The duties require HQ sales calls, daily supervision of assigned accounts, achieving Net sales budget, managing spoils, allowances, and cost of operation within Company guidelines and internal company needs. It is expected that the Walmart/Sam’s Business Development Director has “ownership” of their accounts and is responsible for everything that occurs within the accounts. The goal of achievement is 100% of Net Sales, allowances and spoils within budget goals, meeting company expectations for all accounts.

    FUNCTIONS:

    • Leads the development and implementation of the Walmart and Sam’s business plans, strategies and revenue goals for the retail account plans.
    • Responsible for the analysis and presentation of suggested retail pricing recommendations for Walmart and Sam’s Club, as well as weekly replenishment oversight and inventory analysis support for each customer.
    • Manage the development, maintenance and communication of suggested retail price changes and promotional calendars to the internal Walmart/Sam’s team and key distributors.
    • Develop opportunistic sales strategies in collaboration with licensee’s and retailers.
    • Identify white space opportunities to drive incremental revenue.
    • Aid in the negotiating and support the implementation of retail programs.
    • Analyze program performance and return on the investment.
    • Work in conjunction with the Director with appropriate retail personnel (e.g. buyers, marketing, planning).
    • Organize and analyze retail sales data and information for Walmart and determine merchandise implications.
    • Strategically plan budgets for each retail program and spend within agreed upon targets and parameters.
    • Manage and maintain weekly team reports, recaps & sales team documents.
    • Summarize retailer feedback to appropriate stakeholders.
    • Complete any ad hoc projects within the assigned timeline.
    • Work internally with Cacique’s Revenue Management and Supply teams to understand local pricing and replenishment initiatives and proactively identify suggested retail pricing opportunities within in Walmart & Sam’s Club states.
    • Lead the development of Cacique’s annual margin plan recommendations with Walmart and Sam’s. Provide detailed analysis for Cacique’s key brand/package/market drivers.
    • Conduct post promotional analysis of in-store rollbacks and retail price changes related to Cacique’s brands and SKUs
    • Assist with suggested retail pricing for innovation rollouts Assists with distributor inquiries about pricing processes/technical/system issues
    • Provide SKU level inventory support for assistance with Walmart & Sam’s replenishment teams to avoid market level inventory outages resulting in unnecessary OOSs or depletion declines
    • Achievement of Cacique’s Annual Operating Plan for Walmart/Sam’s
    • Recommendations for suggested retail pricing activities to achieve NSV sales growth Item level replenishment and business analysis support for Walmart & Sam’s SKUs/Items
    • Execute competitive retail price analysis by state to ensure accuracy of key brands/packages.
    • Walmart Joint Business Plan - deliver against promotional activation, and customer performance (promotion, pricing, brand equity)
    • Must be strategic thinking. Must be looking for opportunities to drive the business forward
    • Must be able to develop strong business relationships both internally and externally.

     

    Required Skills

    • Experience working with Walmart and Walmart’s Retail Link data system
    • Deep understanding of distributor operations including pricing and discounting
    • IRI or Nielsen experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of the US-Based retail landscape, solution selling and marketing principles.
    • Proven ability to organize and analyze data and information and develop actionable recommendations.
    • Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Proven and effective presentation skills.
    • Minimum 30% of time spent traveling.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in retail-related buying, product development and/or sales at a CPG manufacturer or food perishable
    • Walmart and Sam’s experience is a must
