    Position Title: Parking Specialist

    Department: Auxiliary Services – Parking Services

    Division: Financial Administration

    Reports To: Parking Manager

    Position Summary

    The Parking Specialist provides front-line, field-based support for Xavier University’s parking operations. This is a full-time, hourly position focused on customer service and visible enforcement across campus. Specialists are uniformed representatives of Parking Services who assist visitors, enforce parking policies, support University events and conferences, and help maintain accurate parking records.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Patrol campus lots and enforce parking policies through citation issuance and accurate data entry with handheld/LPR devices.

    · Provide visitor support and staff the Welcome Guard Building, offering directions, guidance, and policy explanations.

    · De-escalate conflicts in the field with professionalism and escalate issues as needed.

    · Provide on-the-ground support during campus events and conferences, including setting up signage/cones, directing traffic, and assisting visitors.

    · Maintain accurate permit, vehicle, and citation records in the parking system.

    · Serve as a role model for student staff by reinforcing correct enforcement practices and excellent customer service.

    Qualifications

    · High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.

    · 1–3 years of experience in customer service, parking, or security preferred.

    · Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

    · Ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in all weather.

    · Familiarity with handheld devices and basic computer applications.

    · Valid driver’s license required.

    Working Conditions

    · 100% field-based with regular shifts in the Welcome Guard Building.

    · Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

    · Requires frequent walking, standing, and direct interaction with visitors.

    · Occasional evenings and weekends required for event and conference support.
