Position duties consist of teaching Spanish education classes 1 st – 8 th grades. The instructor will oversee the progress of all students, provide for their individual needs, and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment. The successful candidate will be an educator who is highly skilled and experienced in a broad range of Spanish instruction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Teaching Spanish to 1 st – 4 th grades once a week and 5 th – 8 th grades twice a week. The position currently occurs Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Oversee the progress of all students in your groups, provide for their individual needs, and coordinate activities to create a stimulating and caring classroom environment.
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Instruct, monitor, and evaluate students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, following the school student handbook.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary protocols of the school.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Effectively prepare and adapt the classroom for varied classroom activities.
- Assign and evaluate classwork, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Maintain rapport and communication with parents, administration, and staff members.
