Job Description
The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for a full-time Pastry Cook 2 within the Morris Inn in our campus Hospitality department. The UOES Division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.
Pastry Cook 2
Pastry cooks should have excellent baking and organizational skills, be creative, passionate about food, and able to work well in a team environment as well as individually.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up mise en place for pastry production
Prepare menu items according to recipes and yield guides, such as cakes and pastries
Assist in maintaining an inventory of prepped ingredients, checking stock and alerting the Chef of any supplies needed
Plate and issue BEOs and or restaurant/ cafe desserts according to recipe standards
Use equipment and tools safely and properly, and abide by state sanitation and health regulations
Keep the kitchen area and tools clean, sanitize equipment at the end of each production run
Organize and put orders away in designated areas

Qualifications
Prior baking/pastry experience preferred; open to entry-level candidates with strong interest and willingness to learn.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of or ability to learn kitchen safety, hygiene, and food handling standards.
Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and event-based shifts.
Additional Information
Pay Rate: $18.50/hr
