ICS is a research institute that supports Penn State researchers who use computational or data-driven methods in a range of disciplines. The institute uses photos and videos to help train users of our ICS-ACI high-performance computing system and to tell the stories of our researchers. Key responsibilities include: creating short videos about Penn State researchers, to be used on the ICS website, in video press releases, and at national conferences; editing videos of ICS events and training sessions; creating brief training videos for new users of the ICS-ACI high-performance computer; and taking photos of research, equipment, and events for use in communications materials. Other responsibilities may include organizing/inventorying ICS image collections; photo editing; updating the ICS YouTube account; and participating in ICS events and programs as needed. Qualifications: The ideal candidate is someone with demonstrated skills in photography, videography, and video editing who is actively interested in science, engineering, or high-performance computing and able to research/learn about new topics prior to shooting. Experience with iMovie and Premiere Pro, Penn States One Button Studio, coursework or experience in graphic design, and experience working with websites are desirable. The successful candidate will be dependable, flexible, and organized, with excellent interpersonal skills. Access to personal or Penn State video equipment preferred. This is a paid internship with the strong possibility of renewal in future semesters. The intern must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours/week during the fall semester. The opportunity is open to both undergraduates and graduate students.
