Some areas of responsibility include: Content creation; Social media monitoring/responding to posts, tweets, etc.; Posting job announcements, event details, etc.; Increasing our social media presence; Creative community engagement through contests, posts, etc.; Creating social media how to manual with instructions for new hires. This is an incredible opportunity to gain experience for your resume and enhance your marketability for employment after graduation. Applicants must be a current student at Penn State Wilkes-Barre (minimum sophomore status) with an interest in social media (any major), however students majoring in IST, Communication, Marketing or Business are preferred. Requirements include: Strong attention to detail and great organizational skills; Be able to market to students and offer expertise of the needs of students and alumni; Strong computer skills including knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and social media; Demonstrated ability to promote events through creative means that engage students; Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communication to all constituents, including key administrators and campus departments; A desire to learn and grow as a professional; Ability to work as part of a team; Comfortable working with a variety of people, including employers and alumni; Maintain professionalism at all times; Have a positive attitude, and take initiative; able to work independently; Comfortable speaking in front of students and faculty; Minimum of Sophomore status as a student at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Preferred Experience in the following: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, Advertising/Graphic Design, Photography & Journalism, Familiarity with and/or prior utilization of the Career Services office. Please note that we will work around your course schedule, and hours will vary per week but are approximately 10; mandatory participation and attendance at Career Services events.
