The successful candidate will advise students in the College of Information Sciences and Technology on how to identify and secure internship/co-op opportunities. Provide comprehensive career related student services such as building resumes, resume critiques, internship search, job search, career exploration, and interview preparation. Continue development and management of the IST 495 internship course including tracking and reviewing all deliverables. Collect and report internship engagement and employment data. Engage with all members of the Career Solutions Team on programs and applications that help better prepare students for their Careers, including ways to demonstrate the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) core competencies. Assist the Assistant Director of Professional Development in developing, delivering, and facilitating career related workshops and programs for students, faculty and staff. Proactively research and identify potential employers for on and off-campus internships, part-time employment and cooperative education (Co-op) positions. Support employers by helping to educate on best practices when establishing and operating internship/co-op programs. Support career related events including, but not limited to, the IST specific career fairs. Work with marketing and communications to develop materials that promote internship and showcase past intern experiences. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience working with students regarding job readiness and job placement. Experience developing and leading workshops or courses related to job placement. Demonstrated customer service skills as they relate to working with students. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
