    Required Qualifications: **** Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in psychology, education, student personnel, or closely related field. One (1) year of related experience in an advising or customer service setting.

    Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in higher education administration, student affairs, or closely related field. Proficiency in operating a personal computer, using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook), PeopleSoft and Salesforce.

    Key Responsibilities : This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

    • Effectively communicates enrollment information, program requirements and policies to new and prospective students, parents, high school guidance counselors, college faculty and staff; informs the same groups about College majors and courses offered on various campuses, and assists students with enrollment process and determination of their educational goals (i.e. Adult Education, Dual Enrollment, degree/ certificate programs).
    • Conducts an unofficial evaluation of credit to enable transfer students to register for courses. Provides intake advisement for dual enrollment and adult education students. Reviews student educational records/ transcripts, discusses and makes recommendations on program of study, and communicates College policies and procedures and admissions requirements. Completes unofficial graduation check down (audits) for student progress checks.
    • Works with students one-on-one or in groups to review standards of academic progress (including probation and suspension) and assists with strategies to improve academic standing. Assists with screening of applicants for special admissions programs. Advises students with problems; suggest internal/external referrals/resources for difficult/extensive problems outside of training and/or expertise.

    **Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: **

    • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
    • Knowledge of or ability to learn student information systems such as PeopleSoft and Salesforce.
    • Knowledge of FERPA Regulations for handling student records.
    • Knowledge and ability to advise or counsel a diverse student population.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to utilize data and information to make decisions and projections.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, constituents, and volunteers.
    • Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
    • Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
    • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
    • Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.
    • Ability to develop and deliver training presentations and programs.
    • Ability to assess program needs and conceptualize new programs.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Two years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience. A.S degree preferred or an equivalent demonstration of education and experience. Graduate of heath/ medical assistant or similar training program from an accredited institution where general laboratory technique is taught. Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for moderate complexity testing

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Math Ability:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must have the ability to perform all duties with accuracy and attention to detail

    Computer Skills:

    Ability to use Laboratory Information System in addition to various other software programs.
