  • Responsibilities

    The CSI Agriculture Department is seeking applicants for a full-time 10-month Veterinary Technician position to work in our Vet Tech Program. The Veterinary Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining animal colonies and facilities for dogs, cats, rodents, horses, cattle, llamas, and goats. Additional responsibilities of this position will include but not limited to delivery of curriculum, assisting with extracurricular activities, assisting the DVM in clinical activities, and developing veterinary community ties.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Procure animals for use in the Veterinary Technology Program
    • Maintain adequate records, according to APHIS guidelines.
    • Supervise students in routine care of animals in the program.
    • Provide assistance to students with the medical treatment of animals, as needed.
    • Assist in the delivery of curriculum.
    • Maintain animal care facilities and clinical equipment.
    • Assist in managing and record keeping for student summer externships.
    • Assist the DVM with lab classes, including surgery and anesthesia.
    • Assist students with college-sponsored extracurricular activities.
    • Promote the Veterinary Technology Program through school visits and college fairs.
    • Promote Veterinary Technology in the community through involvement with the Idaho Society of Veterinary Technicians and Assistants

    This position requires contact with students of all levels of experience within veterinary or animal related fields in many different types of conditions. It is the Veterinary Technician's responsibility to assure that all students are capable of handling the animals in a safe manner. The role of the Veterinary Technician consists of a variety of responsibilities, and may go from helping students restrain dogs and cats one minute, to catching and loading horses and cattle the next, to recording and submitting forms for compliance. Because this position oversees the care of animals in the program, there are some after-hours, weekend, and holiday responsibilities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    The Veterinary Technician must be comfortable performing and assisting with the common procedures used in veterinary hospitals, including anesthesia, dental, surgical prep, clinical lab procedures, radiology, phlebotomy, medicating, etc.

    • AAS or AS in Veterinary Technology and ability to license in Idaho
    • Graduate of AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program
    • BS in related field and/ or teaching experience is preferred, but not required
    • Evidence of experience with numerous animal species and working with veterinarians
    • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • 3-4 years medical device marketing experience

    • 1+ years cardiovascular marketing background with global commercial product management experience

    • Experience interacting with, selling to and gaining input from global customers and partners

    • Demonstrated experience engaging in deep clinical and product performance discussions with physician experts

    • Demonstrates executive presence and ability to communicate at all levels

    • Strong business and clinical acumen

    • Ability to combine big-thinking strategic perspective with a detail-oriented approach to problem solving

    • Proven ability to manage projects and track record of execution.

    Preferred

    • MBA

    • Experience in large and small company marketing function

    • Catheter based interventional medical device experience; interventional cardiology, radiology, and endovascular experience strongly desired

    **Compensation & Total Rewards: **

    Estimated Starting Salary Range: $116,000 – $130,000
