  • Responsibilities

    Prior to the summer, Program Directors work part‐time from home in preparation for the summer. PDs are paid hourly for work completed during these months. On average, PDs work 10 hours/week.

    Job responsibilities include:

    • Conduct phone interviews and hire a small staff of team advisors and interns.

    • Contact and schedule guest speakers

    • Research and schedule new field trips and facility visits.

    • Review and revise workshops, lessons, and activities that have been part of past curriculum.

    • Develop new curriculum.

    • Work with the Site Director to create the program schedule.

    During the Summer: June 13, 2019 – August 10, 2019:

    During these weeks, PDs live on campus at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. PDs will be paid at the end of each session worked. The NSLC will also cover all housing, food, and transportation costs.

    Job responsibilities include:

    • Plan and implement Law & Advocacy staff training and assist with general staff training for all NSLC staff members.

    • Supervise and manage all Law & Advocacy staff members. Facilitate staff meetings.

    • Manage program supplies and logistics.

    • Support staff members during educational and leadership activities, serving as facilitator where appropriate.

    • Serve as a member of the Georgetown University administrative staff supporting all NSLC programs and students on campus as well as the on‐site NSLC office.

  • Qualifications

    Candidates must have extensive experience in Mock Trial and trial advocacy. Ideally, we are looking for a Pre-Law major/minor who also has extensive Mock Trial experience on the collegiate level. Ideal candidates are energetic teachers, current graduate students or graduating seniors who have studied and/or taught legal concepts, trial advocacy and Mock Trial.

    Experience working at a summer camp or other youth-oriented program is preferred.

    Candidates should be creative, independent, self starters with management experience.
