We now need a Program Manager, 5-12 Humanities Content Management to join our community.

    The Education Institute is our engine for reimagining public education within our schools and far beyond, and brings together a powerful K-12 focus across content and design, implementation, and instructional development. 

    As a critical part of our Education Institute department reporting to the Leader of K-12 Content Management, the Program Manager, 5-12 Humanities will be a results-driven leader who brings a deep understanding of the fields of History and English. The Program Manager will play an essential role in ensuring the existing Gr 5-12 Humanities program is successfully implemented and maintained, initiating and executing on initiatives that will continuously improve academic outcomes for the Humanities program and act as the primary liaison between the Network and school-based partners. With key problem-solving and project management skills, the Program Manager needs to be able to organize the work systematically and move it forward fast.  

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Project management of core activities of the MS and HS Content Management Humanities Team;
    • Managing a team of Content Specialists in maintaining and implementing the vision for the current 5-12 History and English programs, including revising and publishing curricula and assessments, completion of data analysis for assessments, and participating in select trainings to school-based constituents; 
    • Piloting key initiatives that will inform long-term changes to the academics program;
    • Ownership of cross-department functions and initiatives where MS and HS Content Management is involved.

  • Qualifications

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Experience with people and team management. Strong managerial instincts;
    • B.A. in English, Literature, History or a related field. Advanced Degree in English, Literature, History or a related field a bonus. 
    • A least three years of experience in education. Experience in content design and educational leadership strongly preferred;  
    • Understanding of the structures, requirements, and expectations of NY State Tests, Regents, and Advanced Placement ELA/English/Literature examinations and courses highly preferred;
    • A demonstrated ability to design and lead projects that produce strong learning outcomes; 
    • Have strong attention to detail;
    • Have extremely strong writing and proofreading skills; and
    • Have a strong work ethic and ability to work flexibly.
