  • Responsibilities

    The Operations Associate will contribute to all aspects of our Headfirst Summer Camps line of business, with primary responsibilities in facility operations, logistics, materials management, and event preparation. In addition, this role includes managing licensing and compliance requirements and supporting the Headfirst Summer Camps management team in maintaining relationships with key vendors and facilities. This role is year-round and based at the Washington, D.C. headquarters office of The Headfirst Companies but will be also involve travel to our distribution center in Silver Spring, MD and executing quality assurance measures at our camp locations in the DC-area, in June, July, and August.

    The ideal Operations Associate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and is enthusiastic about creatively solving complex problems. This individual will combine the emotional intelligence necessary to excel in mission-driven youth development with the business acumen critical to leading a program on the precipice of rapid growth.

  • Qualifications
    • You hold a bachelor’s degree and a history of academic achievement; a degree with a focus in Operations Management, Hospitality, Tourism, and Management, or Supply Chain Management viewed favorably.
    • You have 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, with one year or more of experience in an operations role in a start-up or similar business environment preferred.
    • You’ve shown demonstrated experience managing and executing challenging operational details, as well as the proven ability to improve efficiency while reducing costs. You have the necessary experience with Microsoft Office, more specifically Excel.
    • You have the ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
    • You’re a highly organized and detail-oriented person, with strong people management capabilities.
    • You have the ability to build relationships and collaborate with individuals from a diverse array of backgrounds both internally and externally, while showcasing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • It is strongly preferred that you have experience in large-scale event management with extremely tight mobilization and demobilization windows.
