The MIT Museum is seeking several outgoing, knowledgeable, friendly individuals to make the science and technology in our galleries come alive this summer.

Learn about museum education, teach kids (and adults) about engineering, and explore current topics in science and technology. The interns will work in the Education and Public Programs Team leading and developing science and engineering demonstrations and group activities, organizing evening programs, interpreting exhibits and leading gallery tours, assisting with educational workshops, and researching background materials for Museum exhibits and programs. Each intern will develop and implement an independent project that augments current public programming in the MIT Museum.The successful applicants will be current undergraduate or graduate students, studying education, museum studies, science and/or engineering. Must be flexible, detail-oriented and a team player. Some experience working with K-12 audiences preferred.

The competitive Public Programs internship requires a commitment of 30-40 hours/week for 11 weeks from June 1 - August 17, 2016.
