If you have the desire to work independently and with a remote team, HealthFitness has a new opening for a HEALTH PROMOTION MANAGER. Our client is based in Baltimore, MD and is the largest health care insurer in the Mid-Atlantic Region! This role will work from a home office and will responsible for the management, staffing, delivery, and evaluation of health management programs and offerings. 

     

    In this position the Health Promotion Manager supervises the Health Promotion Coordinator and team of on-call staff throughout the Maryland, Washington D.C. and northern Virginia region. Together with the Health Promotion Coordinator this individual coordinates program delivery and staffing throughout the region in collaboration with the client’s team of wellness consultants. This position is responsible for contract compliance, service delivery, data compilation and outcomes reporting, client support for program expansion, development and adherence to the strategic business plan, tracking and upholding performance guarantees, and ensuring client satisfaction in the delivery of programs and services. 

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensures contract compliance.
    • Develops and implements the yearly strategic business plan to identify contract deliverables, program/service offerings and initiatives, and targeted outcomes.
    • Prepares and manages operating budget. Ensures expenditures are made in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
    • Manages client relationship to ensure that high customer satisfaction is maintained and HealthFitness value is reinforced.
    • Interfaces with client company wellness department to assess client needs and identify HealthFitness programming solutions.
    • Collects and tracks program data for measurement of program goal achievement, outcomes/participation and results; creates outcomes focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives.
    • Coordinates and leads client bi-weekly and quarterly meetings and presentations.
    • Quarterly travel to client site.
    • Manages on-call staff: recruit, hire, train, communication, payroll, and expense reports.
    • Coordinates planning and delivery of the contractual program offerings throughout the region in collaboration with client consultants.
    • Communicates directly with on-call staff, client consultants, and clientele to confirm logistics and fulfillment of services.
    • Maintains accurate records and ensures confidentiality of data collected during health promotion/membership activities in accordance with HealthFitness requirements, including if applicable file transfer, processes, collaborating with related suppliers and/or storage.
    • Assesses effectiveness of current programming and enhanced delivery methods to reach all segments of the client population with greater impact on program participation.
    • Up to 10% annual travel.

     

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS: 

    REQUIRED:

    • Minimum 5 years related industry experience, including program management in a health plan, health improvement or related environment.
    • Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Strong leadership, team management, interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Demonstrated experience in the areas of program development and implementation, data collection and analysis and outcomes reporting.

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
    • CHES or Coaching Certifications.
    • Current CPR/AED and First Aid or BLS certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 3 months of employment.
