Position Summary
Works with Kitchen Supervisor, Head Cook and Managers in production kitchen, then in schools being served, to ensure efficient production, transport and serving of food at satellite locations. Keeps Hot Food Hot/ Cold Food Cold during entire process. Follows all food safety guidelines and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with Head Cook/ Kitchen Supervisor to safely prepare and ready for transport all foods ordered. Follow Quest, local, State and Federal guidelines for the proper handling of food products.
Assist with preparing all foods and fresh fruits.
Assist in the overall sanitation of the line and product kitchen and lead as a role model to the team.
Maintain open and effective communication with management and staff in both production and service end of the satellite system.
Ensure that all items prepared are to standardized recipes.
Properly expand and/or divide recipes as needed to achieve proper yields.
Work “as team player” with all associates and managers in a professional manner.
Assist with the sanitation of the production kitchen and responsible for sanitary transport equipment. · Transport all foods to satellite locations in a safe and timely manner.
Serve at Satellite school as needed during lunch before return trip to production kitchen.
Follow HACCP guidelines to ensure safe food practices.
Follow all Quest policies and food safety guidelines.
Report to scheduled shift on time and in complete uniform.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/Specifications
Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
Required:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the food service industry
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record for the past 3 years as well as ability to meet company insurance requirements
Ability to perform simple arithmetic as well as to understand measurements and conversion
Responsible for meeting and maintaining state and local certification requirements (Food Handler certification)
Hours are 7:30 am - 3 pm (Start and end times may be adjusted as needed to accommodate business needs)
