    Job Description

    DATES OF EMPLOYMENT

    • Event based early June through mid-September 2022

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Setting up and tearing down of the merchandise area (pop-up tents, rolling carts, counters, grids for hanging product, cash registers, credit card machines)
    • Counting in merchandise prior to the show (t-shirts, CDs, posters, etc.) and counting out at the end of the night to determine starting/ending product quantities
    • Selling product prior to, during the show, and post show. This involves helping guests find the right size/product they are seeking, answering general questions about products and Ravinia, explaining pricing, and detailing the buyers different payment options

    A NOTE ABOUT SCHEDULING

Most non-classical artists performing at Ravinia will bring merchandise with them for sale at the venue (such as Pentatonix, Ringo Starr, Little Big Town, John Legend, etc.). The Artist Merchandise Seller’s schedule is based on these events. Ideal candidates can work all events during their period of availability. Number of hours per week depends on that week’s event schedule. We generally try and determine ahead of time what events will bring merchandise with them and ask sellers to commit to as many dates as they can. Some weeks throughout the summer are more part-time employment while some weeks are more full-time. Seller shifts generally begin between 12pm and 2pm on event days and conclude once tear down is complete post-event.
