    Job Description

    Position Summary

    The Digital & Social Media Manager will report to the Associate Director of Marketing. They will work closely with the broader Communications Department to represent the Ravinia brand across all digital platforms. The primary responsibilities will include social media management, analytic reporting, and strategic collaborations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop short- and long-term digital communications strategies, employing a regularly documented project plan and editorial calendar, on social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and Spotify
    • Constantly improve digital channel performance by running regular analytic reports and iterating practices to meet goals related to sales, growth, and customer service
    • Through formal written reports, communicate growth and areas for improvement to Communications Department peers and, as requested, to Ravinia executive teams and board
    • Ideate, produce, and distribute compelling content—including graphics, written materials, photo, and video marketing assets—in collaboration with Ravinia’s in-house production team and external contractors
    • Work with visiting artists, presenting organizations, influencers, sponsors, and educational partners to co-produce content for use on Ravinia and partner social media channels; establish and maintain medium- and long-term relationships with returning artists and regular institutional and sponsorship partners
    • Pursue digital placements and collaborations with entertainment, society, and popular culture media to highlight Ravinia stories, events, and brand
    • Help develop a dynamic short- and long-term digital advertising strategy, keeping a finger on the pulse of digital advertising trends and best practices; create and place Meta and Google ads within dedicated budgets and employing intuitive audience targeting
    • Manage brand visibility and content on TripAdvisor, Yelp, Nextdoor, and Google/Apple Maps
    • Participate in summer Concert Duty responsibilities, including attending security meetings, capturing in-park experiences/moments, and greeting/supervising media
    • Provide administrative support and assist in copywriting and editing to the Communications Department
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years experience in digital marketing and communications for an established and growth-driven brand
    • Ability to interact well with a variety of people, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work well in a team environment
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and proofreading abilities with a keen eye and attention to detail; understanding of writing styles for the music business and best practices in the nonprofit performing arts space, with classical music knowledge a plus
    • Ability to think critically and act as a self-starter within a broader Communications team; eagerness to innovate and make suggestions for ongoing betterment of the role and team
    • Curiosity for the evolving digital landscape and ability to harness new capabilities for audience targeting and development
    • Eye for branding and design, and understanding of what makes an engaging visual asset
    • Ability to read, interpret, and act upon observations from digital channel and advertising analytics, with tools such as Sprout Social and native data from Meta, X, and Google
    • Experience working with contractors, such as photographers and video editors, to produce high-quality visual assets
    • Ability to project manage and communicate with interdepartmental teams and external consultants
    • Understanding of sales, ticketing, and fundraising requirements within the digital media sphere
    • Ability to work primarily in an office environment; fulfill key onsite duties and responsibilities with interdepartmental teams and independently
