Job Description

The ReachTeachPlay internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in the fields of community engagement, music education programming, and event coordination for a non-profit arts organization. The primary responsibility of the ReachTeachPlay Intern is to assist with the administrative duties, coordination and implementation of various education initiatives. Interns will work under the supervision of the department Operations Manager and Associate Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Music Discovery Performances at Ravinia

• Coordinate logistics for eight days of student performances at Ravinia and assist with on-site event set-up and execution.

Opportunity Lawn Pass Program

• Coordinate the distribution of lawn passes to over 100 social service and nonprofit organizations: process and track program applications, and generate reports.
• Coordinate visits to Ravinia by program participants (some evening and weekends required) and provide customer service to program participants.

KidsLawn

• Coordinate set-up/break-down and on-site operation of outdoor children’s activities.
• Conduct regular inventory of program supplies and reorder items when necessary.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers.

Teacher Institute

• Assist with the 3-day teacher training conference.
• Prepare event plans and logistical documents.
• Secure workshop materials for various music education presentations.
