The Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation, situated within Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Science, has been devoted to improving the lives of individuals with psychiatric conditions for over 40 years. Our Research, Training, and Services divisions work to achieve this goal by researching and developing new interventions, by disseminating new advancements and programs to the field, and by providing programming that teaches critical skills to promote success in whatever goals our participants may have as students, workers, and citizens.

The Center’s Services division is currently inviting applicants for a Recovery Center Teacher position. These part-time positions teach recovery and wellness content to persons with serious mental health conditions in a classroom setting. Key skills for this position include strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster a supportive environment for students in our program.

Essential functions:

• Engage with recovery education students to assist in their recovery, their education and building relationships.
• Developing and preparing class materials.
• Facilitating class content and exercises in class.
• Attending staff meetings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of department practices and policies.
