    Job Description

    Reinhardt University invites applications for the position of Full Time Faculty in the Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The position is a renewable 9-month appointment, non-tenure-track position for a Registered Nurse with the minimal credential of MSN and preference of a terminal degree in nursing. The position will start January 2, 2023 and end May 12, 2023. The position reports to the Dean of the Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Primary duties include teaching 12 credit hours per term, Experience in Medical Surgical Nursing, Leadership in Nursing, Mental Health or Nursing Research is a plus. Additionally, courses in the nursing major, advising of students, service on faculty committees, and on-going engagement with professional development related to the candidate’s discipline and university teaching is also an expectation. Candidates should demonstrate effective teaching, service, and scholarship or performance and show an enthusiastic willingness to actively contribute to a stimulating educational environment where students have an opportunity to grow and learn in challenging academic programs. Candidates are expected to demonstrate effective teaching at the collegiate level, including practice of active and engaged learning strategies.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    · Teach effectively twelve credit hours of course work in fall and spring terms;

    · Serve as academic advisor and mentor for an average of 25 students, including undecided majors;

    · Serve the University through participation in program, academic school and Faculty Senate meetings, as well as through service on faculty and University-wide committees;

    · Assist program coordinator and school dean with assessment of student learning and develop strategies for educational improvement;

    · Support efforts to retain students through the Early Alert program;

    · Grow and develop professionally through scholarship within the discipline and generally as university teacher;

    · Contribute to the smooth and effective functioning of the University by following established policies and procedures;

    · Participate as an active citizen of the University community by attending University-wide ceremonies, academic events, and co-curricular events;

    · Respond to deadlines established by the provost, the registrar, the school dean, the program coordinator, and the bookstore manager;

    · Serve on committees, councils, and task forces;

    · Work with the administrative offices to recruit students;

    · Participate in faculty governance and shared governance of the University;

    · Perform additional and appropriate duties as may be assigned by school dean, the provost, or the president to accomplish the mission of the University.

    · Coordination, lesson planning, and grading for the nursing student in both the didactic and clinical setting

    · Participation in accreditation and research opportunities associated with school.

    · Participation in scholarship, teaching, and service

    · Participation in the governance, service, scholarship and committees within the School of Nursing

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The position requires an active unencumbered R.N. license, minimally an MSN, with a preference of an earned terminal degree (Ph.D., DNP in Nursing) and a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates should show a record of successful experience teaching, advising, serving, scholarship or performance at the university or college level.

    Experience in medical surgical nursing is a plus.
