  • Responsibilities

    A Residence Advisor is an important member of the Housing Team who supports our diverse international student population who are living on campus in Tarrytown, NY.

    • Serve on regular night and weekend shifts (allowing RA to continue working or school during the day)
    • Promote a positive environment in the dormitories that builds community and encourages relationships
    • Commitment to inclusive community that focuses on connecting with all students
    • Plan and execute activities that focus on the social and cultural aspects of being at EF International in NY
    • Mediates conflict between residents
    • Support students in crisis by connecting them with support services such as counseling or medical assistance
    • Perform weekly room checks
    • Attend staff meetings
    • Complete appropriate documentation in an accurate manner within a timely manner
    • Maintain a clean and safe living environment by submitting maintenance requests, ensuring cleanliness of common spaces, and upholding safety procedures
    • Communicate, explain, and uphold EF International academic and residential policies
    • Other duties as assigned by the department of Housing

    The Requirements

    • Must live on campus (you receive an hourly salary, plus free room and board!)
    • Be a role model to the students in behavior, dependability, and appropriate dress
    • Focused on Customer Service with patience, respect for other cultures, and non-native English speakers
    • Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to give honest and critical feedback
    • Excellent organization and communication skills
    • Creative thinker and resourceful
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and react quickly
    • Good analytical and planning skills, able to manage personal time versus work time
    • Dynamic and outgoing personality
    • Travel or study abroad experience a plus
    • Flexibility regarding schedule and tasks
    • Experience working with teenagers and adults
    • Desire to grow with EF International, a big plus
    • US work authorization (Required)
    • Must be 21 years older

    Earnings:

    • $15 - $16 per hour + room & board
