    Avid4 Adventure empowers kids to choose an active, outdoor lifestyle. Instructors are the cornerstone of our staff team, providing support, mentorship, and instruction directly to our campers with enthusiasm, empathy, and passion. Instructors provide 24-hour care for our campers and act as their primary support while in cabin, in program, on expeditions, and more. This role will report to the Manager of Staff Experience.

    The Responsibilities of an Instructor:

    Support Campers

    • Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities.
    • Lead an activity group of up to 13 campers through our outdoor adventure program featuring rock climbing, mountain biking, paddle sports, and more.
    • Serve as a role model and guide campers in appropriate behavior, language, attitudes, and activities.

    Stellar Programs

    • Guide a backcountry experience, ranging from an one-night overnight onsite to a 5-day backpacking trip in the Colorado mountains.
    • Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports and classic summer camp games to original programs, ceremonies, and experiences.

    Passionate Staff

    • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs.
    • Be a member of a dynamic staff team and take an active role in the continual evaluation of campers, programs, and staff.

  • Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum 18 years of age, Bachelor's degree in science, education, or related field preferred.
    • Driver's License, WFA, and CPR minimum certifications.
    • Experience in a summer camp setting is preferred, with experience in at least 1 of the following: climbing, biking, kayaking, canoeing, or backpacking.
    • Experience leading youth and a passion for working with kids.
    • Ability to handle high-stress environments and handle variety of tasks.

    • Pre-Season Training: June 7-16, 2018
    • Camp Dates: June 17- July 29 (Windy Peak); June 17-August 12 (Mt. Evans)
