Job Description The Division of Research Services has an immediate need for a Data Collection Quality Specialist to support MEPS (Medical Expenditure Provider Survey) . The Data Collection Quality Specialist provides technical expertise and guidance to MEPS data collection team. To be successful in this role, the person will perform with excellence, the following job duties: * Assist the MEPS team in the implementation of day-to-day data collection and data quality activities by providing in-depth technical support to floor staff. * Strategize and brainstorm methods to effectively trouble-shoot current production and quality issues, while being proactive in identifying these issues * Coach and mentor MEPS employees * Participate in the planning, coordination and conducting of project, general and all subsequent training programs to improve performance. * Provide oversight with floor presence to ensure staff are on task and have appropriate project resources. * Ensure interviewers and specialists are working assigned cases as requested by project management or as the need arises. * Provide feedback to performance coaches and HRD Employee Relations Specialist with observations from the floor on interviewer performance. * Assist in client deliverable development * Complete sample reviews and groupings * Assist with duplicate spreadsheet review * Other project specific tasks as required. Ability to contact and handle special cases. * Ability to help maximize completion rates by monitoring ineligible, refusal, other nonresponse rates. * Ability to review and respond to questions about problem cases, identifying records for review by senior project management and AHRQ. * Ability to participate in the continuing improvement planning of the project by providing technical feedback and recommendations to data collection managers regarding operational strategies, and software, with a particular focus on strategies and software used by production teams. * Ability to train DCSs and abstractors.
