Posting Summary Under the immediate direction of a Security Sergeant, performs a wide variety of security and parking functions to ensure the safety of persons, protect property, maintain order and enforce the rules and regulations of the University. High school graduate preferred. Requires valid drivers license, two years of driving experience and successful completion of the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course. Requires ability to effectively communicate in English, both in writing and via two way radio. Also requires the ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Mandatory overtime required as necessary. Must be able to successfully complete the NJ CUPSA Basic Security Officer Training Class and maintain applicable certification as required. In accordance with New Jersey State law, applicants must agree to undergo and authorize the university to conduct fingerprint, criminal history and/or child abuse record checks with various law enforcement agencies, including but not limited to: the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Identification Division and/or the New Jersey Division of State Police, Bureau of Identification. Applicants must also assume any costs incurred by the university associated with the background investigations whether required by statute or not. Any criminal record will affect consideration of a candidates application. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred Qualifications Previous security/parking enforcement experience preferred. Equipment Utilized Safely operates Parking Department cars, vans, and shuttle buses (23, 25, 31 passenger vehicles); uses handheld computerized citation writer and printer; uploads information to desktop computer for Word, Excel, and email programs. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Special Conditions Position is located at UBHC, 57 Haddonfield Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ.
