Boston University's Ryan Center Physical Therapy Clinic (BUPTC) is looking for a qualified Senior Physical Therapist. The Boston University Physical Therapy Center is an outpatient, primarily orthopedic practice. This clinic is housed within the DPT program of Boston University, and as such was founded with a guiding vision of delivering care in line with the teachings of the program and being a practice to educate our students within.
The position of Senior Physical Therapist has two main responsibilities. The first and majority of effort will be devoted to patient care. The second main responsibility is that of effort in a specialty track which will be outlined below. Patient care must align with the practice patterns taught within the DPT program and in so are both guideline adherent and aligned with current best practice. Care will be delivered and billed along legal and ethical guidelines of billing practices in our profession. Patient care will incorporate elements of systematic outcome collection that is part of daily practice at BUPTC. This will include adherence to standards set for consistent collection of patient reported outcomes. Senior Physical Therapists will also aim for successful meeting of targeted productivity requirements. Senior Physical Therapists do not have direct reports however will direct the work of clinic aides to assist in patient care and clinic operations. Physical therapists will also collaborate with front office and billing staff for the successful organization of capacity to bill and collect on patient care delivered.
Alongside patient care will include is an expectation of participation in educational endeavors within BUPTC. This will include serving as a clinical instructor for part-time and full-time clinical rotations of DPT students. To be able to do so, Senior Physical Therapists will have successfully received APTA CI training. This is not a term of employment however an expectation to be able to supervise students. Senior Physical Therapists will also participate and aide, where qualified, in quality improvement initiatives, including participation with academic practicum of DPT students as indicated.
