    Production Operations, Intern Location US-CA-Thousand Oaks Posted Date 17 hours ago (4/9/2018 8:09 PM) Req # 18-5073 # Positions 1 Category Production - Manufacturing Overview This position is responsible for working with the manufacturing team to ensure the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of all SAGE US manufactured products. This includes SAGE US books, SAGE US journals, Corwin Press books, and CQ Press books and directories Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities Support Production Operations in all aspects to maintain an efficient department by sharing feedback, addressing concerns and contributing in department. Work with external vendors on the manufacturing schedules of printed materials; resolve problems that could either delay publication or affect the quality of the final printed. Monitor the quality of the work the print vendors perform to ensure that it meets SAGE and Corwin standards. Communicate via email, in person or on the phone effectively with in-house staff and Provide customer support to authors, editors, and departments within SAGE & Corwin. Clearly organize and maintain files and archives. Request and provide cost estimates for all printed material. Work closely with Production, Marketing, Global Digital Projects, and Global Design to ensure detailed purchase orders are correct before sending to vendors. Traffic printer queries and proof approvals. Track and record printed material by updating the monthly dashboard. Assist in registering journals with the Library of Congress. Receive and review typesetting and conversion invoices for correct General Ledger and International Standard Book Number (ISBN). Distribute, check-in and enter new books into SMART information management system. Qualifications & Education Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, and Access. Experience in Adobe Creative Suites is preferred. An understanding of the printing process. Possess positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professionalism with the ability to accept constructive criticism on ones work. Possess intuition, maturity, leadership and good judgment
