    **Program Mission: **The focus of this ASP is to provide exposure to STEAM and Technology Fundamentals in a fun, engaging, and empathetic way for participating students. We will focus on introducing students to fun projects in STEAM including but not limited to Fundamentals of Mobile Technology, Intro to to Computer Science (Coding), early interaction with electrical engineering activities (e.g. circuits) and implementation of Technology Adventure Themes (e.g. Entrepreneurship, YouTuber Adventure, etc.).     Hands-On Technology Education, LLC (HOTE) seeks to provide safe, engaging, and balanced STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) activities for 6th - 12th graders through our signature After-School Program (ASP).

    The successful program staff instructor will facilitate STEAM-based activities and curriculum for the 2021-2022 academic school year at one of our program sites.

    **Program Dates: **September 13 2021 – May 20 2022

    Program Working Hours:

    3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on weekdays that are worked

    Staff Member must commit to working at least 2 days of the week between Monday and Friday.

    Total Working Hours (Per Week):

    Anticipating 8 - 20 hours per week depending on availability of instructor (i.e. days of the week worked)

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Instruct and lead daily after-school program (ASP), which includes assisting in implementation of new or existing Hands-On Technology curriculum.
    • Handle questions, comments and/or complaints regarding education programs and events professionally and tactfully.
    • Attend mandatory employee-training program and other trainings/meetings as scheduled.

    Training:

    Prior to program start, instructors will receive training in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering concepts and activities targeting K-12 students. Satisfactory completion of training is required for all camp instructors, counselors, and volunteers.

    COVID-19 considerations:

    All participants must wear a mask, Daily Sanitization of Facilities, 6 ft separation, individual workstations and consumable supplies for students. We will monitor and respond to current COVID-19 health guidelines for child care.

  • Qualifications
    • One of the following: (1) Valid teaching certification/credential at the K-12 levels, (2) Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Psychology or a Science-related field, and/or (3) Current collegiate student with completed coursework in Education, Psychology or a Science-related field
    • Experience teaching Science, Technology or Mathematics at the elementary, middle, or high-school levels.
    • Experience teaching/leading school-aged children in hands-on activities and youth supervisory experience is a plus.
    • Ability to communicate in front of a large group and direct a large group of students.
