  • Responsibilities

    The Office of Marketing and Communications is accepting applications for a Photo and Video Specialist. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    The photo and video specialist is responsible for all aspects of electronic media production, including videography, photography, editing, and distribution that showcase/highlight the diversity of Shenandoah's experiences. This position requires functioning in a fast-paced atmosphere, where quick turnaround is necessary, and a high volume of videos is regularly produced on a yearly basis.

    • Collaborates with internal & external university clients, the Office of Marketing & Communications (OMC) staff as well as external vendors to produce effective videos that align with Shenandoah University goals
    • Participates in the process of developing story ideas and contributes to the overall creative vision for projects produced by OMC
    • Learns and executes current photography and video trends in software and distribution to ensure the success of visual storytelling techniques
    • Serves a positive role model and assists with educating/training students interested in photography and video
    • Primary point person for managing digital asset storage and archiving along with photography and video equipment and storage locations
    • Provides reporting and strategy for maximizing photo and video reach across all OMC distribution channels including our website and social media
    • May be required to work on inclement weather days or during other special events on campus

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    At least one year of experience in photography and video production in fast-paced environment. It is preferred that candidates have 3 to 5 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in multimedia production or related studies (photography, television, video or film).
