    Shenandoah University’s Wilkins Wellness Center (WWC) is accepting applications for a Part-time/Per Diem Nurse position located on our main campus in Winchester, VA.

    This will be a temporary position to assist with maintaining health initiatives related to COVID-19. The nurse at the wellness center reports directly to the Executive Director of the Wellness Center.  Hours will be 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. four days a week. Saturday and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

    • Work closely with the Wilkins Wellness Center staff coordinating matters related to COVID-19 and accurately maintain the student health reports.
    • Answer questions from students regarding COVID-19. Educate and inform on high risk behaviors regarding COVID-19.
    • Working in coordination with the student health center (WWC) to track all COVID calls providing start and end time of calls taken and updating PyraMed and spreadsheets.
    • COMPLIANCE - Understands and rigorously follows all applicable FERPA/HIPAA laws and Shenandoah University compliance policies and procedures.
    • COMMUNICATION - Able to give clear information, orally and in writing, listen effectively, and get unbiased information.
    • TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE - Able to understand and apply position relevant concepts and skills to make sound judgments and maintain compliance with all applicable governmental and non-governmental regulatory agencies.

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Diploma from an accredited School of Nursing, College or University required. (Bachelor’s preferred).
    • Current Commonwealth of Virginia RN license required.
    • Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Must have the ability to work weekends.
    • Must be able to use a computer, printer, and fax machine.
    • Must be able to receive and give detailed information through verbal and written communication.
    • Must be proficient in the English language.
    • Must be able to work remotely.
