    The North Central Texas Council of Governments Transportation Department is seeking an entry- or mid-level Transportation Planner in Transportation Systems Management (TSM)/Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to support the development of transportation programs and projects aimed at reducing traffic congestion and improving system reliability. This posting is for the mid-level Planner II position.     RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

    • Coordinating with public sector partners
    • Assisting with oversight of consultant activities on a region-wide program of traffic signal and intersection improvements along inter-city corridors
    • Coordinating regional ITS initiatives developed through the Regional ITS Stakeholder committee
    • Performing consultant-identified improvements to and management and operations of the 511DFW Traveler Information System
    • Reviewing and updating the Regional ITS Architecture and Statements of Consistency
    • Enhancing the regional ITS and traffic signal data archive initiatives
    • Coordinating the development of regional ITS integration software and the deployment of the regional ITS communication network
    • Drafting components of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan
    • Developing Measures of Effectiveness and evaluating effectiveness of programs and projects through regional and corridor-level analysis
    • Tracking the implementation of TSM and ITS projects in the Transportation Improvement Program
    • Managing project specifics, including development of work scopes, strategies, budgets, schedules, correspondence, and documentation
    • Drafting and delivering oral presentations

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods (i.e., ITS and Transportation Systems Management and Operations [TSMO])
    • One to three years of job-related experience

     

    SALARY

    Minimum of $48,278.00 annually

     

    FLSA: Exempt
