SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting the sale, processing and shipment of goods and services by the proper picking, storage, stocking and restocking of materials and supplies utilized by Sunshine Metals, Inc. The Material Handler is expected to perform their responsibilities in an error free fashion while completing required paperwork and computer data entries associated with service center production processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Material Handler position. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the sales and purchasing systems require.
Performs all activities Safely and Accurately
Picking and restocking of materials
Ensures stock tags and material identifications are correct
Safely drives the fork truck through the processing center to move material and skids to designated areas
Performs daily cycle counts
Packaging of shipments
Prepare items for shipments according to customer specifications and delivery dates
Load and unloads material from delivery trucks
System Receiving of materials
Measures materials upon arrival to the warehouse in raw, uncut form and checks the gauge of materials using a micrometer; then, enters gathered data into computer system and generates tags to be placed on the appropriate material.
Pulls and stages material according to the bill-of-lading and performs all dock audits to ensure the correct material is shipped to the customer
Obtains proof of identity from carriers and obtains the appropriate signatures on the bill-of-lading
Safely operates the over-head crane to stage material
Strives to meet all customer expectations
