  • Responsibilities

    **Shenandoah University’s Office of Human Resources is accepting applications for an Academic Contract Specialist. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia. **Additionally, this position reports to the Assistant Director of Human Resources. The Academic Contract Specialist works closely with the Provost, Deans, and Directors to process contracts for all non-benefitted faculty employees.

    The primary responsibilities are:

    • Process all new non-benefitted and non-faculty instructional assistant contracts and benefitted faculty and non-faculty instructional assistant contract renewals, using information and approvals from the Deans/Directors and the Provost via Google Sheets, Google Forms, Word, and Adobe Sign.
    • Responsible for tracking/securing signatures, maintaining a record of receipt, and entering contract information for payroll processing
    • Assist with job postings for all employees
    • Process requests in Ellucian/Colleague and Etrieve
    • Responsible for the onboarding of non-benefitted faculty employees and non-faculty instructional assistant employees
    • Collect data and complete the following surveys, CUPA, AAUP, NASM-HEADS, and IPEDS
    • Ability to collect position, salary, benefit, and demographic data via Operation (OP) Reports
    • Provide employee data and reports to other university departments periodically as requested.
    • Assist other human resources staff with various tasks of the department.
    • Assist employees with general questions regarding employment and benefits.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities required.

    Required Skills

    The qualified candidate should possess the following:

    • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Advanced computer skills, including data entry and human resources software
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Detailed-oriented with excellent organizational skills
    • Task and analytically driven
    • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking

    Required Experience

    • Required work experience for this position includes a minimum of 3-5 years of administrative office work, advanced technology skills, and knowledge of human resources policies and protocols.
    • Experience in a higher education setting is a plus.
    • The educational requirement for this position is a High School Diploma, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
